Innovation Center "Sports Technologies"

The Innovation Center "Sports Technologies" headed by V. Kormyshev (Ph.D., International Master of Sports in chess) was established in 2013 under the Development Program of Ural Federal University. The Chairman of the Innovation Center is Evgeny Naboichenko, Ph.D., assistant professor, head of the Academic Department of Physical Education, Master of Sports. The main areas of activity of the Center are scientific research and development in metrology and certification of sports facilities, safety confirmation of sports facilities and the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of Russia register entry.

Achievements

More than 9 million rubles have been spent on the research and development programs, six monographs and textbooks and a series of articles indexed in SCOPUS / WOS have been published. More than 250 sports facilities have been surveyed all over the country from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad. Recommendations have been given on including these objects into the unified register of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

In 2015, the Innovation Center joined the International Association of Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS). It was the first Russian university to become a full member of this global association. Currently, the Center is doing intensive work together with the RFU and RFB on coaches and judges training management.

The students are actively involved in scientific research. Individually and in collaboration with research supervisors, students annually publish about two hundred papers of various levels from conference abstracts to articles in WoS / Scopus-indexed journals. Their research papers are regularly published in the materials of the International Youth Research Conference "Innovative Potential of Youth" held annually at Ural Federal University, All-Russian National Youth Conference "Lomonosov" (Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov). They have also been awarded diplomas of national and regional scientific competitions.
